Friday April 13th

  • Shrine Circus Protest:  In Los Angeles at the Shrine Expo Center there will be a protest starting at 1:30pm on the 13th and ending at 11pm on the 15th.  Show your support for the elephants who are abused and forced to perform for this cruel circus.  You can confirm your attendance and leave a comment on the Facebook page for this event.

Animal Adoption

  • Bunny Adoptions: It’s just about time for Easter and that means a lot people will come up with the brilliant idea to put a live bunny or chick in their child’s Easter Basket thinking it’s “cute”.  After the novelty and excitement wear off the animal will be dumped at a shelter because  the reality of having to actually take care of him/her will set in.  Places like BunnyLuv Rabbit Resource Center, a non-profit no-kill shelter, will be over flowing with unwanted bunns.  We want to encourage families to consider responsible adoption as opposed to buying an Easter themed animal on a whim.  A bunny can be a wonderful addition to your family IF you’re ready and able to give him/her the care and love that they need for life.  If you’re not, then a stuffed animal toy and a whole lot of candy will probably do the trick.  BunnyLuv offers information on diet, litter box training, travel and more for those of you who are deciding if bunny adoption is right for you.  They also have photos of available bunns.

A Night For The Dolphins Event

  • Foie Gras Protest at Inn at the Park: Protest the sickening cruelty of foie gras at Inn at the Park in San Diego from 7pm-9pm. They added it back to the menu after being foie gras free since 2006.

Saturday January 28th

  • Stray Cat Alliance Outreach Day: From 9am – 3pm join the Stray Cat Alliance to help spread the word about their free spay/neuter program for cats. They will need team leaders too so check out the Facebook page and shoot them an email.

Sunday January 29th

  • Veggie Grill Fundraiser for Vegan Outreach: Head over to Veggie Grill in Santa Monica from 5pm to 10pm and eat some vegtastic food. When you order be sure to mention you are there for the Vegan Outreach Fundraiser and 50% of your bill goes to benefit this group!

Animal Adoption

  • Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles: We posted recently about the Pug Nation Rescue adoption event. This wonderful group finds homes for abused, neglected and unwanted pugs. If you want to add a new member to your family consider adopting a pug from this rescue group.

    This is Abby, a lovely senior pug with an adorably wrinkly face. She wants to spend her golden years with a loving family and gets along well with other dogs and kids.

Thursday October 27th

  • Get Vegucated with Bob Barker: From 7:30-10pm at the Landmark Movie Theater in West Los Angeles you can view the premiere of Vegucated, enjoy some wine & vegan sweets at the after party and mingle with Bob Barker, Rory Freedman & Marisa Miller Wolfson (writer/director). Get your tickets here.

Saturday October 29th

  • Halloveegan: There is so much going on at this fantastically spooky event we’re going to send you straight to the Facebook page with all the terrifying details! It’s a FREE event but donations are accepted and will benefit the Gentle Barn.

Sunday October 30th

  • Green Festival: This is happening both Saturday & Sunday at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Enjoy a green living event like no other with authors, actors, visionaries and community leaders; hundreds of green businesses; DIY workshops; live music and local vegan and vegetarian cuisine; and an organic beer and wine garden.
  • Dia de los Muertos by Pop-Up Vegan Brunch Cafe: There will be a delicious vegan brunch, cocktails, dancing, raffles, tea leaf readings and face painting! Also 10% of sales will be donated to ARME. Tickets are $10 in advance & $15 at the door. Be sure to show up in costume for a free shot of limoncello.


Sunday November 6th

  • Healthy Taste of L.A. 2: The celebrity chefs are back and ready to do some culinary demos and hand out samples of what they make. This is an all day event with Dr. T. Colin Campbell as the keynote speaker. Prices start at $119 per person (Oct. 1st-31st) so be sure to get your tickets asap!

Animal Adoptions

  • Trick or Treat for Homeless Pets: This “event” is to help raise money for homeless pets everywhere. Set up a collection jar at work or make a container with your kids  (you can print out a canister wrapper). Ask for donations while trick-or-treating, at a Halloween party you attend or any where else you can think of.  Then donate to your local shelter or online. Check out the details here.
  • Dog Adoption: Sia: Sia is full of energy and looking for love! ARME took her in when she was found by homeless kids who couldn’t keep her. She was starving, filthy and suffering from mange. This 7 month old pup would do well with a playmate. If you or any one you know is interested in adopting Sia please click here.

Saturday October 22nd

Animal Adoptions

  • ARME Pitbull Pups & Momma: ARME has rescued a group of 10 puppies and their mom that were found abandoned in an alley.  They are still too young to be adopted but will be available soon. Mom is very gentle and submissive, great with other dogs and people. If you’re not able to adopt be sure to donate to ARME to help pay for their care.

  • AltCar Expo: Ok so this isn’t really a vegan event but they have cool cars! (They offered some vegan food last year) You can check out some really neat alternative technology vehicles and learn more about renewable energies and energy efficiency. Free admission! Takes place from 10am-5pm Sept 30th to Oct 1st.

Sunday October 2nd

  • Veg Week Celebration: This party will be the ending celebration for Veg Week and takes place at Queen Bee’s Cultural Center in San Diego from 2-4pm.
  • Vegan at Verdugo III: It’s happening again! A delightful combination of vegan food and craft beer at Verdugo bar.  Enjoy some delish food from Mandoline Grill and Fresh Fries food trucks. 3-8pm and 21+ only

Saturday October 8th

  • Worldfest Fundraiser at Veggie Grill: Veggie Grill is all about the fundraisers! Here’s another that will benefit Worldfest, one of the best vegan festivals in Los Angeles! Be sure to mention when you’re ordering that you want 50% of your bill to be donated. Also be sure to look for the Worldfest volunteers and crew and say hello!

Animal Adoption

  • Pet Orphans of Southern California: This organization has lots of loving dogs and cats looking to find a home. If you’re considering adoption and you live in Southern California why not check them out.  Either take a look at the adoptable pets on their website or visit them in Van Nuys.

  • Animal Acres Country Hoe Down:  There will be a vegan luncheon created by Miss Kitchen Witch for just $10 per plate followed by Shelter Tours and ending with presentations by some wonderful groups including Vegan Outreach, Peta, CoK and Mercy for Animals. Thursday August 18th

  • Minds in the Water Premiere:  The North American premiere of Minds in the Water, a documentary of Dave Rostovich’s journey across the globe and his effort to protect the animals of the ocean, will touch your heart.  This event is free but you must reserve your spot.  Click here for details.

Monday August 22nd

  • Launch Party & Fundraiser for the Humane Research Council: Head to the WEHO Veggie Grill on Sunset any time after 5pm and let them know you are there for the fundraiser. Animal Adoption

  • Hooves and Paws Animal Rescue:  They are an animal sanctuary that is home to neglected and abused farm animals as well as dogs.  This no-kill shelter has lots of pups available for adoption.  You can also sponsor a goat, sheep, horse, duck or other animal.  Click here to find out more about adoptable animals at Hooves & Paws.
